Week 14, Boring Week, Exciting Weekend

Wow, it was a very eventful week after a pretty slow and monotonous start, so I'm a day late with the blog update.  The week started off where the last one ended, with us attempting to potty train Tommy.  Like I said, he got the pee down part right away, so I was eager to get him to go poop in the potty....too eager.  I went "by the book" and didn't scold him or anything for pooping in his pants, just telling him it needed to go into the potty, and promising him a special Buzz Lightyear toy when the deed was done.  Apparently the pressure was too much for him.  He stopped happily trotting into the bathroom when we cued him, and instead we had to essentially force him to pee.  So, in the end, after 3 days of this, I decided that I didn't care if he pooped in his underwear a few days a week for now.  He doesn't have pee pee accidents, and I would be shocked if he ever had a poop accident in public, since he always hides in his room to go #2. Once I relaxed a bit more about it, he was back to running into the bathroom and earning his stickers.  We have actually been able to stop the sticker and "circle" rewards for peeing, so this is his one and only completed potty chart!

The rest of the weekend was super busy.  On Friday I had some girlfriends over for a little fun and relaxation of my own.  We had a really great time with most of the party leaving around midnight after lots of laughs.  The next morning we started our Easter festivities by meeting up with Kathryn and Emily Howard as well as Danny Howard and his girlfriend Alex.  After eating lunch at Chick-fil-A, we went down to the Easter Bonnet festival being held at Waverly Place and let the boys run around some.  It was so nice to spend some time with the cousins--Danny and Ethan truly are a pair!!  After naps, we went over to Leslie & Seth Carter's house for a little cookout with all the kiddos.  I think Tommy has his first crush on their youngest daughter, Cameron--she's pretty much all he talks about these days!  I wish I had some pictures of these 2 events, but I don't :(  If I can grab some from Danny, I will add them in!

On Sunday, we headed over to my parents' house early so I could help out with the preparations (Bill and Susie were out of town because Bill was being recognized as the creator of Kermit--Go Bill!).  The boys looked absolutely adorable in their Easter clothes.  They got their baskets from Mommy and Daddy before we headed out.  Tommy was a big fan of the Toy Story sippy cup, while Ethan was a big fan of the Reese's Pieces carrot (let's hope that comes in handy while he's potty training!!).

Then, we headed over to Grandma and Granddad's house, where they got their baskets from them.  The harmonica's and Animal Crackers were the prized treats there!

In the morning, we did a lot of playing around in the backyard before our massive Easter feast!   The boys loved playing basketball and getting wagon rides from Uncle NoNo!  Tommy was so cute singing "Twinkle Twinkle", "Jesus Loves Me", and "Hakuna Matata" as he was being wheeled around on his chariot :)

We went inside and ate a delicious lunch, and put the boys down for their naps.  When they woke up, there was a magical yard of Easter eggs waiting for them.  Neither of them took right to it to be honest.  Ethan decided to let Granddad do the grunt work for him, while Tommy agreed to "clean up" the eggs if he could get more wagon rides once they were all cleaned up!

So, once we got all of those pesky eggs cleaned up, it was time for fun and games again!

We had a wonderful Easter at my parents' house, came home, gave the boys baths, and put them to bed. As for the weigh-in on Wednesday, I was down another 2.2 pounds--woohoo, putting me at 15 for the year.  Now, I will be SHOCKED if I don't gain wait this Wednesday--too much partying this weekend!  It's the first time I've gone over my points allowance, so I'm expecting the worst.
