Week 52, A Five Year Retrospective

Week 52--the end of 2012.  What an incredible year it has been, but I've already chronicled all of that for you :)  For me, the end of this year signifies a deeper milestone, that of five wonderful years of marriage.  The past five years have been the most incredible of my life.  I have been blessed beyond anything I could have ever imagined for myself.  Davey is the most loving, generous, and compassionate husband in the world.  Although I know for certain that I don't deserve his adoration, I thank God frequently for it.  I cannot imagine a better representation of Ephesians 5:25 than Davey--"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her."  I am truly so thankful that I am able to tangibly experience the love of Christ on a daily basis through the love that Davey always shows me.  Throughout these past five years, our family doubled in size as we welcomed our two beautiful sons into this world.  Thomas Hayes Catchings was born on March 13, 2009, and Ethan William Catchings came along a mere 15 months later on June 22, 2010.  As I sit here, I am really having trouble putting into words the love a parent feels for his or her children.  One thing is for sure, our lives have been forever changed, and we wouldn't have it any other way. So, without further ado, here is my homage to the past 5 years:

Life Lesson: Follow the Leader

I'm keeping this one short and sweet. Tommy and Ethan, follow your Daddy's lead. Emulate the way he treats me when you (God willing) have wives someday. If you treat your wives the way your Dad has treated me, you will have a very happy wife, a thrilled mother-in-law, and two very proud parents! Most importantly though, you will have a pleased God
